We love our local Omaha Farmer’s Market here in Nebraska! We hope you will see why:
#1 The New Items
The waiting in anticipation for whatever new items – produce, products and food to take home that week! We can’t wait to see what we will be cooking or making the next week!
#2 Many Options
The beauty of the Omaha Farmer’s Market is that it is more than one day a week, and at more than one location! Score!
Old Market: Saturdays from 8:30-1 at 11th and Jackson
Aksarben: Sundays from 9-1 in Aksarben Village, 67th and Center
Charles Drew Health Center: Wednesdays from 3:30-5:30 at 2915 Grant St
There is also a Holiday Market every December for 1 weekend. It is a great time to pick up Christmas gifts and things for your holiday parties!
#3 The Beauty of Local
The ability to meet your local farmers, crafters and vendors.
#4 Free Parking!
Really, need we say more?!
#5 Free Smells!
The smells that accompany the market – roasting nuts, popcorn, herbs, fresh flowers, and the fresh food vendors all mix to make for some fantastic smells!
You can taste all the cheeses, meats, local honey, cookies, the list goes on! Bring your appetite!
#7 Getting “Local”
Lincoln isn’t that far away, but it is great to have vendors from down in that area that come up to Omaha, since we don’t make it to Lincoln very often. Especially the Parthenon and their amazing pastries!
#8 SNAP
Having the option to use SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), to get those great fresh vegetables is fantastic!
#9 Dogs, Dogs and more Dogs!
You can bring your dogs (on a leash!) and even get items for them, too!
#10 The Atmosphere
It is like going to a festival every week – very fun, people are there to enjoy themselves, and you will too!
Things to Bring: Reusable bags, cash (smaller bills are great!), your appetite, and your sense of fun! If you are staying in Omaha we recommend these Airbnbs!

I love that there are so many choices, and the Wednesday one if you can't do the weekends!

I have been to the Aksarben Farmer's Market, but surprisingly have not been to the Old Market one. Where do you think is the best place to find parking?

We always park a little far from the one downtown. Near Patrick's Market is always good parking, and if you get there early enough you can probably go a little east of there and be closer. We don't mind the walk, though!

Great reasons to love the farmers market! I do wish there were less dogs since I have a three year old that is afraid of dogs that are bigger than him but other than that I think we have a top notch market.
